Abstract Submission for Oral & Poster Presentation

 

  • Must not exceed 250 words.

  • Name of all authors, name of institution, email address, and contact number must be included.

  • Must include category of presentation: ORAL or POSTER PRESENTATION.

  • The abstract should contain:

    1. Research aim(s),

    2. The Methodology used,

    3. Research findings, and

    4. Research implications.

  • Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word format (* .doc / * .docx) to the email address conference@fpe.upsi.edu.my by writing ‘Abstract ICAME2016 – Poster Presentation’ in the "Subject" area of your email.

 

Fullpaper Submission for Oral Presentation : Guidelines and Formatting

 

  • Once you have received your Oral Presentation Acceptance Letter, you can begin preparing for your paper submission.

  • The paper can be written in Bahasa Melayu or English.

  • The paper should not exceed 10 pages including tables, figures and references. Template for writing full papers can be downloaded here. Papers that do not follow this template, is likely to be returned or not accepted for presentation.

  • Papers should be written single spaced, with font size 11, font type Times New Roman, in Ms Word format (* .doc / * .docx) only.

  • Submission for Oral Presentation must be done electronically through conference@fpe.upsi.edu.my.

 

Poster: Guidelines and Formatting

 

1) Guidelines for Headings of the Poster

 

   Please ensure that your poster follows the format below:

  • Title Area

    • ​Title (UPPERCASE, font size 48)

    • Author(s) and affiliation (UPPERCASE, font size 30)

  • Introduction / Purpose / Objective / Hypothesis 

  • Methodology 

  • Results or Outcomes 

  • Implications

  • Acknowledgements (if any)

 

2) Poster Formatting 

 

   Please ensure that you follow the formatting as outlined below:

  • The A1 poster size print measures cannot exceed the dimension of 59.4cm (height) x 84.1cm (width) or 23.39 inches (height) x 33.11 inches (width)

  • Only ‘Portrait’ orientation is allowed.

  • Posters can be presented in Bahasa Melayu or English.

  • Please refer to poster preparation guidelines as stated in Figure 1 on the next page.

  • Please do not forget to fill in the poster Code Number (given in your Poster Presentation Acceptance Letter) in the space indicated.

  • The best color combinations to use are listed below. Simple use of color can add emphasis effects.

    • Black on white

    • Red on white

    • Green on white

    • Blue on white

    • White on black

 

3) Full Paper Submission for Poster Presentation (optional)

 

Full paper submission for a poster presentation is optional and not mandatory. However, we encourage the poster presenter to submit the full paper through conference@fpe.upsi.edu.my as it can be nominated in the best paper award and/or selected for publication in one of the refereed journals - IBEJ, JCIT and MRJ.

 

Poster:  Set-Up/Tear-Down and Presentation

 

1) Set-Up/Tear-Down

 

  • Posters are to be displayed all day during the conference.

  • All posters should be mounted on Saturday, October 8 between 8.00am to 8.30am in the poster corner, Block 10, Kampus Sultan Azlan Shah, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjong Malim. Please refer to your email acceptance notification.

  • Push pins will be provided to mount your poster materials. Do not mount your materials on thick poster board as it may be too heavy for push pins. Do not write or draw on the display board or use adhesive putty.

  • A desk and chair will be provided for each poster presenter. Any additional materials should be brought by the presenters.

  • All posters must be removed after the conclusion of the evening session of the conference, between 4.45pm to 5.00pm. You may not remove your poster prior to 4.45pm.

  • All materials must be removed no later than 6.00pm on the day of your poster presentation. Poster materials left after this time will be discarded. The ICAME 2016 secretariats will not be responsible for materials left in the poster corner after this time.

 

2) Presentation Period

 

  • The Final Program will include the exact time for the poster presentation session; an individual poster assignment number for each poster that corresponds with a poster board; and a specified 30 minute period during which you are required to remain at your poster to answer questions from attendees.

  • Poster presenters will need to stand by their poster and be prepared to answer questions from the poster session attendees in a one-on-one format. They will not need to give a formal presentation.

  • During the assigned poster session time, you must attend to your poster for the entire time. This is absolutely mandatory. If you have more than one poster to present, it is your responsibility to identify a co-author to present as necessary.

  • Poster Session: Saturday, October 8, 8.45am – 4.30pm.
